This tool aims to help researchers find relevant questions within the ILO's microdata collections. Unlike a basic keyword search, it employs Semantic search, a technique that not only detects keywords but also interprets their intent and context. By analysing the closest matches to the search query, the tool provides information on the country (ref_area), survey source (source), year (time), dataset variable (variable_name), and assigns a 'score' indicating the relevance of the results to the query. It was built by using ILO's catalogued surveys, Sentence-BERT (SBERT) - a large language model, and a Quora forum database to train the model.
